Covering the two in the same post.
Spring-
Spring, like Fall - is an interesting season. It lacks the extreme weather of Summer or Winter, as well as the interesting holidays/events. So it just kind of passes by. Occasionally you stop & notice the fairly good weather, and the booming flowers - but then you head back inside because you desperately need some Claritin.
Fall has the same problem - nothing interesting happens, besides falling leaves. You never hear about "Aggresive Fall Weather" or how everyone is desperately counting down the days until Spring begins. These two are pointless filler months, the boring days of nothingness that we use, so the snowy awesomeness of winter, and the face-melting sweetness of summer are that much more significant.
Lacking-
I have a lot lacking from my life. Jet packs. Time machines. Spiderman powers. The ability to play a flaming electric guitar while riding on top of a humpback whale. But even the less impossible things my lacks - a sense of accomplishment, musical talent, or notoriety - are things I'm fine with not having. Why? Because I've seen enough bad after school television to know that any time you try to make a drastic change in your personality, you end up upending everything in your life that you loved, but had forgotten to appreciate.
There's a reason why my life is the way it is - it's because every choice I consciously made landed me here. I built my own destiny, and it's almost foolish to think a different one would somehow suit my personality better. This destiny was built for my personality, out of my personality.
