School Spirit. numero quatro.

School spirit i feel like is very important.
We need to have pride in our school. WE dont have much.

Alot of people in our class are stupid and DONT do anything!
and its really irritating. just because they dont wanna look dumb, but really their the ones who look dumb. I think they should get over themselfs and just do it.
its not very hard.

yupp, pretty much our class sucks.

  1. Well on the other hand that sounds like class spirit. What do you have with connection with your class? Your age. Also how many times do you go and support those people?
Is that all school spirit is? Going around in yellow and black? What happened to just supporting your school by trying to do good in school?

  2. I completely agree I have nothing in common with half the people who freely accept that school spirit is important

  3. Nicole: good on you for asking rhetorical questions. Ever thought about becoming an English teacher? But how does doing well in school support the school? Isn't that the school supporting you? How exactly does that give back? Maybe you should do well in school -- and then say thank you? Or help someone else to do better? Just a thought.

Tony: suck it up. Grow a pair. Ask Pat and Jonah how.

Grant and Nicole both: you actually have quite a lot in common with members of your class -- same age, same town, same experiences re: teachers, environment, etc. -- but that doesn't mean you have to like them or get along with them or support them. I have a lot in common with white supremacists (I'm white -- and in their eyes, that's all that matters), but that doesn't make me want to cheer at their, erm, pep rallies. It does make me curious about why they are how they are and why I am different from that.

Boulderr: The people who don't participate aren't trying to get out of doing something hard; of course pep isn't hard. But why should they do it? Why is it important? Because if they don't, then you'll call them stupid? Not much motivation there.
