Strange
Hrm...what an interesting question. If I had to pick what my totem would look like, I think that mine would probably have a whale on it, because to me, whales just sort of float there, being, and I wish that I could be like that. I would have a music note on it, because I love music, and probably a question mark, because there's alot I don't know, and I'll gladly admit that. I think that the future is also a big question mark. Who knows?

Whales are cool. I agree with that. Except, do you really want to be a whale? Swimming around eating krill with the brain the size of a peanut? Really?
ReplyDeleteWhy wouldn't you want to do that? Everybody likes seafood, and swimming around all day would be boring if you had the capacity for thought. But if you have a brainnut, hey -- it's like Dory in "Finding Nemo." Everything is new and exciting and fun! Hey look! A jellyfish! OooooOOOOoooo!
ReplyDeleteThough I don't know that I'd characterize whales as "just floating there." They actually need to cover a tremendous amount of territory in order to find enough to eat. Plus that whole harpooning thing has got to be a bear when you can't scratch your own back. Can you imagine how annoying that would be? If you're looking for a peaceful and unmoving totem, go with a sea anemone. Or a sea cucumber. Those are cool.
