A person is responsible for his or her own actions. Unless:*The person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.*The person is temporarily or permanently insane according to the legal definition.*The person was coerced by another person.*The person is under 18 years of age (In some situations; in others, minors are still held responsible.).

I think in that case the PERSON that stabbed the man should be held resoponsible for the murder. Everyone else that just walked by shouldn't be held responsible for his death, but it should be mentioned somehow that they didnt kill him but watched him die.
