I think that technology is a great thing, but not always necessary. For example, while you're driving or something and you want to listen to a book, you can just pop the tape in while you drive. Also, though, you probably won't be paying too close attention to the tape while you're driving, so you'd miss more things. And cellphones are great - especially when you miss the bus after school and need a ride :P. But it causes people to have accidents while they're driving because they're stupid and text at the same time or talk and don't pay attention (like this lady almost hit me one time while I was crossing the street on the crosswalk 'cause she was on the phone...). It's also really annoying when people text during class.
